Mallorca Council launches new funding scheme to promote social responsibility in SMEs for 2026

The Mallorca Council, through its Department of Economic Promotion and Local Development, has launched a new grant program aimed at supporting the integration of social responsibility into the management of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as social economy entities throughout 2026. With a total budget of €80,000, this initiative seeks to strengthen sustainable business models by incorporating environmental, social, and governance principles into organizational strategies.

The funding allocation includes €50,000 for for-profit entities and €30,000 for non-profit organizations, with a maximum grant of €4,000 per project. Applications can be submitted until April 30, providing eligible organizations with the opportunity to implement initiatives that enhance their social and environmental impact.

This program introduces a strategic framework focused on improving business competitiveness through responsible practices. These actions not only contribute to strengthening corporate reputation and internal processes but also support a more balanced and sustainable economic development model aligned with current global challenges.

Eligible applicants include SMEs, self-employed professionals, and a wide range of social economy entities such as cooperatives, foundations, associations engaged in economic activities, social integration companies, special employment centers, fishermen’s guilds, and agricultural transformation societies, among others.

Funded projects may include the preparation of sustainability reports covering environmental, social, and governance performance; obtaining certifications or external verifications to ensure compliance with recognized standards; and joining internationally recognized initiatives related to corporate social responsibility.
