Local authorities, associations, and social organizations can now apply for new funding aimed at supporting educational leisure activities during the 2026 school holidays. With a total budget of up to €1.75 million, the initiative strengthens institutional efforts to improve work-life balance and promote employment in youth care services.

The program covers activities for children aged 3 to 16 during summer and Christmas holidays, and also retroactively includes Easter programs. It additionally provides funding for extra staff to support participants with disabilities or functional diversity up to the age of 21.

Up to €1.75 million boosts family-work balance programs in Balearics

The funding scheme includes two main lines: one for local authorities, covering up to 75% of project costs, and another for family associations, third-sector organizations, and non-profit entities, covering up to 100% of project expenses. This structure aims to maximize accessibility and social impact.

In 2025, 21 organizations benefited from similar grants, receiving over €750,000. The increased budget for 2026 reflects growing demand and highlights the importance of these initiatives in supporting families during school holidays.

Beyond its social benefits, the program also seeks to generate stable, quality employment in the care sector, reinforcing a model that combines family support with local economic development.
