The Consell de Mallorca hosted an official reception at the Palau del Consell to honour the sporting achievements of Farah El Bousairi and Shella Badaseraye, two athletes closely linked to Mallorca. The event was led by Llorenç Galmés and attended by the Island Director of Sports, Toni Prats.
The ceremony highlighted the significance of both athletes’ achievements and their role as ambassadors of key sporting values such as dedication, discipline and perseverance. During the event, an institutional gift was presented as a symbol of recognition for their contribution to promoting Mallorca on the international sports stage.

Mallorca Council President welcomes champions Farah El Bousairi and Shella Badaseraye
Farah El Bousairi was honoured following her European title victory in the super flyweight category, a milestone achieved after a decisive bout held in Palma, reinforcing her standing in international boxing. She attended the reception alongside the President of the Balearic Boxing Federation, Youba Sissokho, and co-promoter of the Ciutat de Palma Trophy, Néstor Domínguez.
Meanwhile, Shella Badaseraye was recognised for her outstanding performance at the Spanish Masters Weightlifting Championship, where she secured first place in the women’s -63 kg category (Women 35). Her results in both snatch and clean and jerk lifts placed her among the top performers, strengthening her status as a leading figure in national weightlifting.
Through this recognition, the Council reaffirms its commitment to supporting and promoting sporting excellence, highlighting the importance of athletes who represent the island at the highest competitive levels.
