The Minister for Business, Self-Employment and Energy, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, emphasized the importance of Vaquer’s work, particularly during his tenure as president of AENIB (Balearic Association of Nautical Companies) since 2017. His leadership has played a significant role in advancing the professionalization of the sector and reinforcing its economic relevance in the region.

Throughout his presidency, Vaquer has managed challenging periods for the nautical industry, standing out for his ability to engage with public administrations and his strategic vision in complex contexts. Vaquer’s professional path dates back to the early 1990s, when he founded Jaume Vermell Náutica. Since then, he has maintained a continuous commitment to the development of nautical services in the Balearic Islands, establishing a leading company within the sector.

The Marcial Sánchez Barcáiztegui Award, presented annually by PIBS, recognizes companies, organizations and individuals who have contributed to the growth of the nautical sector. The event also gathered institutional representatives and industry stakeholders, reflecting broad recognition of a career dedicated to the advancement of nautical activity in the Balearic Islands.
