The Department of Education and Universities has launched a new funding call aimed at enhancing university life across the Balearic Islands in 2026, focusing on initiatives that encourage participation, critical thinking and stronger links between academia and society. Applications are open until May 29, reinforcing a strategic commitment to fostering a dynamic and socially engaged university environment.

The scheme supports the organization of academic and outreach activities such as conferences, seminars, workshops and discussion forums addressing current issues in higher education. It also includes training and information initiatives related to university access, academic programs, career opportunities, lifelong learning and professional development, helping students and participants make informed decisions about their future.

The total budget allocated to this call amounts to 15,000 euros. Each project may receive up to 3,000 euros, provided that the proposed activity has a minimum budget of 500 euros. Each initiative is eligible for a single grant, ensuring a balanced distribution of available funding.

Non-profit organizations and their associations are eligible to apply, provided they promote activities with a tangible impact on university life in the Balearic Islands. The initiative aims to strengthen knowledge transfer, social engagement and active participation from both the university community and the wider public.

Through this program, the regional government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the role of universities as key drivers of knowledge, social cohesion and cultural development, while supporting initiatives that enrich the academic experience and reinforce connections between higher education institutions and society.
