The Consell Insular d’Eivissa has officially announced the winners of the 2026 Sant Jordi Awards, a well-established initiative now in its 32nd edition for literary categories and 11th edition for bookmark design. Aimed at secondary and upper secondary students across the island, the awards continue to serve as a key platform for promoting creativity and written expression within the educational community.
The jury, which met on April 27, highlighted the high standard of the submissions, as well as the thematic diversity and artistic quality demonstrated by participants. In the bookmark category, particular recognition was given to projects that combined thoughtful concepts with strong visual composition, emphasizing both design and originality.

Consell d’Eivissa announces winners of the 2026 Sant Jordi Awards
Regarding the literary competition, the jury noted the close level of the entries and evaluated criteria such as thematic depth, narrative style, linguistic accuracy, and literary influence. In the secondary education narrative category, first prize was awarded to Atrapats entre les veus by Laura Romero Irurre, followed by El garrover by José Antonio Guasch Costa. In the upper secondary category, La tirania de les hores by Elisabeth Escandell Escandell received first prize, with Defcon 2 by Mia Tomati in second place.
In poetry, within the secondary level, El dens silenci del temps i de la mar by Laia Marí Torres was awarded first prize, while Suspesa al límit by Leeloo Quemin Tolmer received second. In the upper secondary category, La clau by Elisabeth Escandell Escandell took first place, followed by Sa mort des ametllers by Andreu Tur Juan.
Organized by the Department of Culture of the Consell d’Eivissa, the Sant Jordi Awards aim to encourage literary creation in Catalan and provide a voice to young talent. The jury also acknowledged the dedication of participating students and encouraged educational institutions to continue supporting the initiative in future editions.
