Ibiza has launched the environmental awareness campaign “Your Best Achievement, Circular and Sustainable Ibiza”, an initiative aimed at promoting recycling, waste reduction and environmental awareness among residents, especially younger generations. Organised around World Recycling Day, the campaign will travel throughout the week to sports facilities across the island’s five municipalities.

The initiative, promoted by the Department of Environmental Management, Sustainability, Innovation and Transparency, was officially presented at the es Raspallar sports complex and seeks to bring sustainability values closer to everyday community spaces. The campaign highlights the importance of responsible habits related to waste separation and environmental protection.

The project will be carried out through street marketing activities at various sports centres in Ibiza, where environmental educators will set up interactive information stands to engage with visitors, athletes and families. Through educational activities and participatory experiences, attendees will receive practical guidance on recycling and waste prevention.

Ibiza launches a campaign in the island’s sports centres to promote recycling and waste prevention

One of the campaign’s main attractions will be a participatory game inspired by the traditional board game “The Game of the Goose”, adapted onto an ecological textile surface featuring sports challenges, recycling-related questions and sustainability-focused activities. Participants completing the circuit will receive informative gifts linked to the environmental campaign.

The stands will also include interactive and visual elements such as customised recycling bins, giant dice, sports equipment and digital participation tools designed to encourage learning and public involvement in a dynamic and accessible way.

Following its launch at es Raspallar, the campaign will continue over the coming days at sports facilities in Can Misses, sa Pedrera, Santa Eulària, Sant Miquel and Can Guerxo, reinforcing Ibiza’s commitment to sustainability, environmental awareness and citizen participation through sport and education.
