The Government of the Balearic Islands has launched an extraordinary €10 million support package aimed at assisting self-employed professionals and small and medium-sized industrial businesses facing the economic consequences of the conflict in the Middle East. The initiative seeks to safeguard competitiveness, business continuity and employment by offsetting rising operational costs linked to the international crisis.
The programme is divided into two complementary funding schemes. The first, with a budget of €2 million, is designed to compensate for the increased cost of transporting goods exported from the Balearic Islands. This measure aims to reduce the financial burden that higher logistics expenses place on industrial companies operating in external markets.
Eligible expenses include transportation costs directly connected to business activity and attributable to production centres located within the Balearic Islands. The programme covers operations carried out between 28 February and 31 December 2026, helping businesses cope with the challenges created by global supply chain disruptions and higher freight costs.

€10 Million to Support the Balearic Industrial Sector Amid the Effects of the War in the Middle East
The second funding scheme, allocated €8 million, focuses on mitigating the impact of rising fuel and raw material prices. Financial assistance will be available for fuel used in internal and external transport operations, as well as for machinery and equipment essential to industrial production processes.
In addition, the programme includes support for companies affected by increased raw material costs. Businesses whose procurement expenses accounted for more than 40 percent of their total operating costs during 2025 will be eligible to apply. The measure is intended to assist industries that are particularly vulnerable to fluctuations in international commodity markets.
Maximum grant amounts will vary according to the location of the beneficiary’s registered headquarters. Companies based in Mallorca may receive up to €20,000, while those located in Menorca and Ibiza may access up to €22,500. Businesses established in Formentera will be eligible for grants of up to €25,000. Applicants may request support under one or both schemes, provided that the same expense is not financed through multiple programmes.
Applications may be submitted between 15 and 30 June 2026. Funding will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis once applications have been correctly completed and submitted, until the available budget is exhausted. Through this initiative, the Government of the Balearic Islands reinforces its commitment to supporting industrial activity, strengthening economic resilience and helping businesses navigate an increasingly challenging international environment.
