The Government of the Balearic Islands has approved a new edition of the 2026-2028 Training Voucher programme, backed by a budget of one million euros and aimed at both employed and unemployed individuals in order to enhance professional skills and improve employment opportunities across the islands.

Under this initiative, beneficiaries will be able to access training courses free of charge, with values ranging from 51.48 to 1,287 euros, fully financed by the SOIB. The programme is designed to provide workers and job seekers with qualifications that respond to the current demands of the Balearic labour market.

The new call expands the catalogue of available courses by 71%, increasing the number of training specialities from 208 to 356. Alongside existing programmes linked to auxiliary construction activities, new areas have been introduced in the social care and healthcare sectors, transport, self-employment, business creation and traditional trades.

These additions aim to preserve the distinctive productive fabric of the Balearic Islands while ensuring the continuity of long-standing activities associated with sectors such as footwear and costume jewellery manufacturing. The programme also seeks to encourage entrepreneurship and support the development of new business initiatives.

The call has already been published and training providers interested in participating may now join the programme. As for the first edition, which is currently underway, a total of 830 training vouchers worth more than 230,000 euros have already been allocated.

Unemployed individuals must arrange an appointment with the SOIB offices to complete their registration, while employed workers may enrol directly through the accredited training entities participating in the programme.
