The city of Inca has secured more than five million euros in funding from the NextGenerationEU programme, enabling the implementation of projects focused on sustainability, energy efficiency, climate change adaptation and the modernisation of public services. Several landmark initiatives have demonstrated the municipality’s commitment to urban transformation in line with European objectives related to ecological transition, digital innovation and social cohesion.
One of the most significant projects has been the comprehensive refurbishment of the main entrance to the Municipal Sports Centre, including the installation of a photovoltaic pergola designed for renewable energy self-generation. With an investment close to one million euros, the initiative contributes to reducing electricity consumption and strengthens the city’s commitment to clean energy solutions.

Inca exceeds five million euros in European investment through strategic sustainability and urban transformation projects
The Footwear and Industry Museum has also undergone a modernisation process aimed at improving accessibility and energy performance. The works have included the installation of LED lighting systems and the expansion of photovoltaic facilities for self-consumption, creating a more inclusive and environmentally efficient cultural venue.
Meanwhile, the Serral de ses Monges Park has benefited from an extensive environmental restoration project focused on climate change adaptation. The intervention has introduced accessible pathways, restored traditional agricultural areas, implemented efficient irrigation systems, incorporated native plant species and created a naturalised lagoon, reinforcing the park’s role as one of the main green spaces in the Raiguer capital.
Alongside these initiatives, Inca has promoted additional projects related to tourism development, digital transformation of public services, organic waste collection, historic centre rehabilitation, enhancement of parks and gardens, improvement of urban infrastructure and the creation of new public spaces. Altogether, these investments position the municipality as a leading example in the management of European funds and in delivering projects that generate tangible benefits for residents while contributing to a more sustainable, innovative and future-ready city.
