The City Council of Inca has paid tribute to basketball player Joan Sastre Morro by officially renaming its main sports facility as the Joan Sastre Morro Municipal Sports Palace. The institutional ceremony was held to recognize the achievements and career of one of the city’s most distinguished athletes, following the unanimous approval of the initiative by the municipal council.

The event brought together family members, representatives from the sporting community, local clubs, organizations and numerous residents, all of whom participated in a tribute celebrating the remarkable career of the Inca-born player. The ceremony highlighted the most significant stages of his sporting journey, from his beginnings at Bàsquet Inca to his successful career in top-level national and international basketball competitions.

As part of the tribute, young players from Club Bàsquet Ciutat d’Inca showcased the different jerseys associated with the key stages of Joan Sastre’s career, symbolically retracing the path that led him to become one of Spain’s leading basketball players. The event also featured audiovisual presentations highlighting his early years and some of the most important moments of his professional achievements.
