Balearic communities abroad can now apply for a new grant programme designed to support cultural, social and community initiatives that preserve and promote the identity of the Balearic Islands. The programme has a budget of €210,500, representing an increase of €38,000 compared with the previous call and reinforcing institutional support for these organisations around the world.

The grants are intended for associations made up of people originally from the Balearic Islands and their descendants living overseas, particularly in Latin America. These organisations play an essential role in preserving the Balearic language, culture and traditions while strengthening ties with their place of origin and promoting the islands’ heritage internationally.

One of the main new features of this year’s programme is the creation of a specific funding line for joint projects involving several Balearic communities abroad. The initiative aims to encourage cooperation between organisations, promote collaborative activities and strengthen networks through shared projects.

The programme also provides for the advance payment of 100% of the approved grant, making it easier for beneficiary organisations to carry out their activities without having to finance project costs in advance.

The Directorate General for Institutional Relations and Relations with Parliament will provide guidance and technical assistance to applicants through information sessions designed to help prepare both applications and project proposals. Applications may be submitted from 5 August until 30 September, when the application period closes.
