The Balearic Institute for Women (IBDONA) has strengthened its practical training programme for students from Vocational Education and the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), reinforcing the preparation of future professionals specialising in gender equality policies. Over the past three years, six students have completed part of their academic training at the institute, combining classroom learning with hands-on experience in public administration.

Among the participants, four were enrolled in the Higher Vocational Diploma in the Promotion of Gender Equality, while two were studying the Master’s Degree in Equality Policies at the UIB. The initiative enables students to complement their academic education by taking part in the institute’s day-to-day work and developing practical skills directly related to their future careers.

IBDONA strengthens practical training for vocational education and UIB students in gender equality

The placements, lasting up to 400 hours depending on the level of study, involve supporting technical staff, attending team meetings, preparing reports and studies, and participating in projects aimed at promoting equal rights and opportunities for women and men. This approach provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the institute’s role in advancing gender equality.

The programme also improves graduates’ employability by equipping them with practical experience applicable to positions in both public institutions and private organisations. During the three-year period, three students completed their placements in the Project Management and Monitoring Service, while the remaining three joined the Evaluation and Planning Service.
