The Consell de Mallorca has officially opened the submission period for the 2026 Mallorca Literary Creation Awards in Catalan, the Mallorca Literary Creation Awards in Spanish and the Mallorca Contemporary Photography Awards. Through these initiatives, the institution continues to promote artistic excellence, encourage contemporary creativity and provide opportunities for writers, photographers and emerging cultural talent across the island.
A key feature of this year’s edition is the expansion of the Spanish-language Literary Creation Awards, which now include the same five categories already available in the Catalan competition: narrative, poetry, essay, theatrical texts and illustrated children’s literature. This enhancement broadens participation opportunities and reinforces the awards as a leading cultural initiative supporting literary creation in both official languages.

Registration Opens for the 2026 Mallorca Literary Creation and Contemporary Photography Awards
Each Literary Creation Awards competition offers a total prize fund of €80,000, distributed across the different categories. Submitted works must be original, unpublished and created without the assistance of artificial intelligence. The winning entries will also be published by the Consell de Mallorca, helping to increase the visibility of both the authors and their work.
Submissions for the Literary Creation Awards will remain open until 3 September. Meanwhile, the Mallorca Contemporary Photography Awards continue with two established categories: the Mallorca Contemporary Photography Award, worth €10,000, and the Mallorca Talent Illenc Photography Award, endowed with €5,000 for photographers born in or residing in Mallorca. The winning projects will be included in the Consell de Mallorca’s 2027 exhibition programme, while the deadline for photographic proposals is 3 October.
