Applications for the new Youth Rental Bonus 2026-2027 in the Balearic Islands open this Tuesday, 1 September, and can be submitted until 30 September. The scheme, managed through the Directorate-General for Housing and Architecture, has a budget of €4.8 million in state funds.
The Youth Rental Bonus provides financial assistance of €250 per person per month, up to a maximum of €6,000 over the two years covered by the scheme. It is aimed at young people aged up to 35 who meet the established requirements and is intended to facilitate access to a rented home or room.
The new call will cover part of the rental costs corresponding to 24 monthly payments during 2026 and 2027. The eligible period runs from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2027.
The conditions remain the same as in previous calls and are those established by the Spanish central government through a 2022 state royal decree. Rental contracts for homes costing up to €900 per month and rooms costing up to €450 per month are eligible for the scheme.
The Govern de les Illes Balears has asked the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda to increase these rental price limits, taking into account the reality of the market on the islands, in order to reach more young people in future calls. This proposal will be raised as part of the aid measures derived from the new state housing plan.

Applicants must have Spanish nationality or legal residence in Spain and be no older than 35. They must also hold a rental contract for a home costing no more than €900 per month or for a room with a maximum monthly rent of €450.
The annual income of the applicant or household may not exceed three times the IPREM. Applicants must not own a home and must be up to date with rental payments under their tenancy agreement.
The Youth Rental Bonus cannot be combined with ordinary rental assistance, with the intention of extending coverage to a greater number of beneficiaries.
