Sant Joan will celebrate the Festa del Botifarró on 3 and 4 October, marking the 60th anniversary of one of the municipality’s traditional gastronomic events. The programme will take place in Plaça de la Constitució and will include barbecues, a market, family activities, exhibitions and live music.
The celebration began in 1966, promoted by Penya Motorista Sant Joan, and six decades later it continues to centre around fire, communal grilling and traditional Mallorcan products. Food and bar service will be available throughout the weekend, including botifarrons, pork loin, pancetta and other products for grilling.
Under the slogan “Tradició, música i poble”, Saturday’s programme will begin at 5 pm with the opening of the market. At 6.30 pm, the Associació Balear del Ca de Bestiar will hold a herding demonstration.
