Ses Salines Town Council has completed a series of improvements to its municipal sports facilities with €213,919 in funding from the Consell de Mallorca. The projects include work at the football ground, new installations and supplies, a children’s playground and new padel courts in Colònia de Sant Jordi.
The investment has funded civil works and pre-installation work at the football ground, as well as new facilities and supplies at the Jaume Bonet “Cometa” Sports Ground, where a children’s playground has also been added.
New padel courts have also been built at the ses Ramones sports facilities in Colònia de Sant Jordi.
The second vice-president of the Consell de Mallorca and councillor for Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, and the island director for Sports, Toni Prats, visited the facilities together with Ses Salines mayor Guillem Mas and sports councillor Miquel Rigo to see the completed works and improvements.
Bestard said the €12 million in funding provided by the Consell de Mallorca between 2024 and 2026 represents an important improvement to sports facilities across Mallorca, aimed at promoting physical activity and leisure among residents, as well as contributing to public health.
