The local police of Inca warn us of false gas inspectors

Jul 11, 2021 | Current affairs, Featured

Several residents of Inca have already warned us of the presence of fake gas inspectors in their homes. They usually show up at a house dressed in uniforms or overalls and explain that they come on behalf of a gas company.
Unfortunately, many victims of these scams are elderly people living alone.

If the installation is for natural gas or piped propane, the distribution company will notify you by post of the obligation to pass the inspection. This letter will inform you of the approximate dates. The payments will NEVER be in cash or at the time of the inspection but will appear on the next bill.
If it is for bottled gas or propane, for example, butane cylinders, the user will be in charge of contacting the technician, and not the other way round, so that the installation company can carry out the inspection. In this case, the payment for the inspection DOES have to be made on the spot.
It is important to be wary of a technician who comes to your home and tells you that he will cut off your supply if you refuse to carry out the inspection.
