The new director of the Museu de la Música and of the Centre Robert Gerhard is from Inca

Jordi Alomar was unanimously elected by the Consell Rector del Consorci de L’Auditori and Orquestra as the new director of the Museu de la Música de Barcelona and the Robert Gerhard Centre, following the proposal of the selection committee.

Born in Inca (Balearic Islands) in 1985, Jordi Alomar is a musicologist, musician and cultural manager, combining research with teaching and independent cultural management. He holds a degree in violin and a degree in History and Science of Music from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, as well as a Master’s degree in Cultural Management from the University of Barcelona.

Among the actions that have made him worthy of this direction, the following stand out: “he has demonstrated the achievement of the necessary competences for the development of the job position: his strategic vision, and the capacity to implement strategies to achieve the fulfilment of the objectives, leadership, ease of communication and flexibility”.
