Snakes in Mallorca

Jul 25, 2021 | Current affairs, Featured

At this time of year, it is common to find snakes. It should be noted that some are autochthonous and, therefore, should not be eliminated. Near inhabited areas, it is more common to find invasive snakes, which should be removed. They are not dangerous, but if cornered they may show aggressive behaviour as a defence.
For their capture, COFIB makes trap cages available to the public and provides the relevant indications on how to place them and how to proceed with the captured specimen in case it is an invasive snake.
