The European Day of Music gave us one of the best news on the music scene on the island. The cult band Antònia Font announced their return to the music scene in Inca on 18 June 2022. The Polideportivo Municipal Mateu Cañellas is the chosen venue, and for those who want to see them again in Barcelona. The other venue that will thrill us with this performance will be the Palau Sant Jordi on 15 October 2022.
Tickets have been on sale since yesterday and many people have left their comments on their purchase. Planning is not usually the main characteristic of a population characterised by the “come back tomorrow”.
But in this case, Antònia Font’s tickets leave a very good taste in the mouth and a lot of expectation as they represent the return of a Balearic standard bearer dissolved in 2013.
Antònia Font was founded in Mallorca in 1997 and disbanded in 2013.
The pop tone and their diverse subject matter give us themes centred on science fiction, Mallorca, and cinematic stories.
This pop tone and fantastic lyrics is their main identity trait.
Joan Miquel Oliver is the group’s guitarist and composer. Born in Sóller in 1974, he has stood out as a singer, guitarist and songwriter. His genres range from pop, indie, lo-fi, electric pop, singer-songwriter and experimental music.
We will have to wait until 2022, but it will be worth it.
