Martina Rosselló Oliver has been chosen to promote the 10th anniversary of the Serra de Tramuntana
the 10th Anniversary of the Serra de Tramuntana being declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in the Landscape category.
On 29 June 2011, UNESCO, at its headquarters in Paris, inscribed it as a cultural landscape on the list of World Heritage Sites.
These kilometres of dry stone and hydraulic canalisations were decisive in transforming a rough terrain into a habitable one. It was recognised by the international community, encouraging its conservation and beauty.
This 2021 different departments of the Consell de Mallorca (Tourism and Sports, Territory and Landscape, Sustainability and Environment, Presidency, and Culture and Heritage) have joined forces to organise the celebration of our tenth anniversary through a multitude of activities, varied and aimed at all audiences, and whose main objective is to bring Mallorcan society closer to the values recognised by UNESCO to make the Serra worthy of the inscription on the list of world heritage sites.
