As of today, 64 administrative assistants will be assigned to 143 public nurseries and primary schools in the Balearic Islands. This initiative ensures that all primary schools on the Islands have administrative staff available at least one day a week.

This incorporation is made through the investment project “Implementation and development of GestIB” and involves the appointment of a total of 64 interim civil servants of the administrative auxiliary body C2 (47 in Mallorca, 8 in Menorca, 8 in Ibiza and 1 in Formentera). Administrative staff may be placed in 143 centres, 106 in Mallorca, 17 in Menorca, 17 in Ibiza and 3 in Formentera.

To make the distribution of these sixty-four administrative assistants has been established as a starting point the number of students enrolled in each centre of kindergarten and primary education during the current academic year 2021-22. Based on this number of enrolments, the criterion of assigning one, two, two and a half, three, or four days a week in the centres has been applied in accordance with these criteria:

  • All CEIPS in the Balearic Islands will have at least one day per week.
  • Centres with 300 pupils or more will have at least two days per week.
  • Centres with 400 pupils or more will have at least three days per week. The increase in the number of days of attention beyond the above criteria is due to the need for geographical distribution and the characteristics of the centres that share the assistants.
