As of this Monday, a new timetable extension of the intercity bus lines in the western area of the municipality of Calvià will come into force, improving its connectivity with Palma. In this way, residents and workers in the area can enjoy a wider range of public transport options within the TIB network, which is managed by the Conselleria de Movilidad y Vivienda through the Consorcio de Transportes de Mallorca.

The most significant improvement is the 31% increase in the service between Magaluf and Palma covered by lines 104 and 105. Thus, from Monday to Sunday there will be a bus with a frequency of every 20 minutes. Line 104 also extends its timetable at the end of the day with the last departure from Magaluf at 00:30 and from Palma at 00:10. All the buses on this line are 18-metre long, high-capacity vehicles to cope with the demand in the area.

For their part, the 101 Port d’Andratx and 102 Peguera lines will return to the usual route they had before the start of the Son Vic works. In addition, the Peguera line has increased its service by 29% with a bus every 25/30 minutes from Monday to Saturday, thus extending the last departures of the day until later in the evening.

Users of the 103 Santa Ponça – Palma line also now have a bus every 25 minutes from Monday to Saturday, as the service has been increased by five more departures per day in each direction. On Sundays, eight more services will be added.

For its part, line 108, which connects Son Caliu, Portals Nous, Bendinat and Cas Català with Palma, increases the service on Sundays with three more departures each way and two more return journeys and adds the last departure to finish the service later than 11 pm.

On the other hand, an increase in service is also planned for lines 122 Puerto de Andratx-Santa Ponça and 123 Santa Ponça-Cas Català at the beginning of June.

With Intermodal Card or bank card

Residents of Mallorca can travel with the Tarjeta Intermodal, a card that works with a system of points that makes the price of the ticket cheaper for each journey. The balance of the Intermodal Card can be loaded online on the TIB website, on the buses and through the ticket vending machines in the train and metro stations.

For residents who do not have an Intermodal Card and for visitors arriving in Mallorca, they have the option of travelling with a bank card. Whether it is a debit or credit card, it allows you to travel on the entire TIB network (bus, train and metro) without having to buy a ticket beforehand, and it is cheaper than buying a single ticket from the driver. It offers the possibility of transferring twice during the same journey. In addition, when using a bank card, significant discounts apply to groups of up to 5 people.
