The event was attended, on behalf of the Regional Ministry of Mobility and Housing, by the councillor Josep Marí and the manager of IBAVI, Olvido Terrassa. Sa Pobla Town Council was represented by the mayor, Llorenç Gelabert.

Councillor Marí thanked the mayor of Sa Pobla for his intention to cede this plot of land: “This is another step in the collaboration between the two administrations to make new public housing available to citizens as soon as possible. I would like to remind you that without the participation of the local councils and the transfer of public land it is more difficult to build new developments dedicated to renting, despite this it is also true that we have many lines open to provide real solutions to the residential emergency in our Community”.

The land ceded by the Town Hall is located at Calle República Argentina, 28, in Sa Pobla, and has a surface area of 400 m². Work is currently underway on the contracting of the project, which foresees the construction of eleven dwellings with eleven parking spaces.

The budget foreseen for this development is 2.235.990,00 € (VAT included). Construction work is scheduled to begin in 2023 and is expected to be completed in approximately fifteen months.

The current stock of IBAVI in Sa Pobla consists of 88 dwellings in total, of which:

  • 72 rented dwellings
  • 5 subsidised dwellings
  • 11 empty dwellings (3 are being refurbished and 8 are in the process of being adjudicated).
