The Directorate-General for Consumer Affairs has today organised a workshop aimed at beneficiaries of the emancipation programme of the Amaranta Solidarity Foundation. These are teenagers and women who have been under the tutelage of the Public Administration and are now participating in the programme to be able to lead an independent life, free of violence, which will allow them to integrate into society.

The workshop organised today at the Espai Consum, in Palma’s Casal Ernest Lluch, is part of the training strategy programmes carried out by the Directorate-General for Consumer Affairs aimed at vulnerable consumers so that they are aware of their rights, as well as how the consumer administration works.
Thus, with this objective in mind, in recent weeks a series of training talks have been held, organised by the Training, Information and Institutional Relations Service of the Directorate General for Consumer Affairs, such as those organised at the Felanitx senior citizens’ centre, aimed at informing its users about new forms of consumption and how they affect the most vulnerable people.
With these courses, which are given throughout the year, the Directorate General for Consumer Affairs aims to achieve the objective of providing better service to citizens, reminding users of their rights, informing them of the resources available and speeding up administrative procedures.
For its part, the Amaranta Solidarity Foundation in the Balearic Islands works with young women who have been taken into care by the public administration. It carries out various actions to prepare these people so that they can defend their rights in the face of possible situations of injustice and abuse.
