In addition, a total of three thousand children from schools in Mallorca will also see this show in the three school performances that the OSIB will offer: on the 26th (at 10:00 am and 11:45 am) and 27th October (at 10:00 am).
For some time now, the Symphonic Orchestra has been implementing this type of initiatives within the framework of the “EDUCA” programme with the aim of consolidating the educational objectives, bringing the orchestra closer to the public, so that a relationship of complicity and proximity is also established between the latter and the Symphonic Orchestra; and promoting the live musical experience, the instruments that make up the orchestration of the selected works and the elements of the language of the score.
For this reason, in addition to this show, the Symphony will offer two more school/family programmes during the 2022-23 season in Palma’s Teatro Principal: on the 24th and 25th of January, it will offer El secreto del viento Azul. A musical tale by Belén Otxotorena in which the woodwind, brass and percussion instruments will be the protagonists. On the other hand, on March 21st, 22nd and 23rd, the programme Storm FX will be offered. This second programme shows how the same idea – the orchestral portrait of a storm – has inspired composers from different musical periods: Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism, Impressionism and the 20th century. The audience will participate, creating their own sound storm, and will see how storm gods from different cultures and civilisations will help the musicians to survive the meteorological adversity.
