Worldskills 2022: Elsa Delgado wins one of the Honorary Medals in Lucerne (Switzerland)
Since last Sunday Elsa Delgado has participated in this international competition in the skill of Bar and Restaurant Service with 22 representatives from all over the world.

The competition par excellence of vocational training aims to promote, enhance and disseminate vocational training studies.
Elsa Delgado receives an Honorary Medal at the Worldskills2022 in the Bar and Restaurant Service skill, representing Spain in the world competition par excellence of Vocational Training.
After a long journey through the vocational training competitions, first in the Balearskills regional competitions and then at national level in the Spainskills 2022, where she was the winner of the Bar and Restaurant Service skill, Elsa Delgado, Spanish representative in the Worldskills 2022 vocational training Olympics, has won an Honorary Medal in Lucerne (Switzerland).
In this edition, with a high competitive level, Elsa competed with students from 22 countries around the world (Thailand, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Sweden, United Kingdom, Austria, Barbados, Malaysia, South Africa, Finland, Hong Kong, Philippines, Uganda, India, Colombia, Hungary, Namibia, Japan, Chinese Taipei, France and Belgium).
Elsa Delgado is a student of the higher vocational training course in Restaurant Services Management at the CIFP Juníper Serra (Palma) and during the weeks leading up to the world championship she has been preparing with her tutor, Joan Miquel Marroig, with the support of the national coordinator, Antonio Díaz, and the regional coordinator, Nino Recio.
A total of 22 participants from 15 countries competed for a medal or honourable mention.
The Worldskills Special Edition 2022 competition has been organised in 15 countries and regions around the world after the cancellation of Worldskills Shanghai 2022 due to the pandemic. Sixty-two skills competitions will be held over twelve weeks between 7 September and 26 November 2022.
In this case, the Messe Luzern in Lucerne hosted the competitions for the Restaurant and Bar Service and Cooking skills.
The jury members judged the skills and resources, good manners, excellent interaction with guests, poise, excellent personal and food hygiene practices and practical skill in the conduct of the competition.
The tests during the competition consisted of the following modules:
- Barista/bar
- A la carte restaurant menu service
- Banquet menu service
- Gala menu service
Worldskills is a practical testing competition in which vocational students from all over the world demonstrate their knowledge and skills.
This is the first time that the Balearic Islands have been represented in these international tests.
