The previous government team did not draw up the project, which has a budget of up to 1.2 million euros from the Next Generation funds.
The councillor for Agriculture, Fisheries and the Natural Environment, Joan Simonet, and the councillor for the Sea and Water Cycle, Juan Manuel Lafuente, visited the Cabrera National Park today to study and assess the comprehensive refurbishment of its dock. This is a much-needed intervention that has its own budget within the Next Generation funds of up to 1.2 million euros.

Ports IB would be in charge of drawing it up and carrying it out, as it is within its competence, while Medio Natural would assume the financing. It should be noted that the previous government team did not initiate or develop the drafting of the project.
The visit was also attended by the director general of Natural Environment and Forest Management, Anna Torres, the director general of Ports IB, Antoni Mercant, and the director of the Cabrera National Park, Cuca López.
Simonet pointed out that this “action is necessary to improve the functioning of the National Park. In addition, improvements must be made to the working conditions of all the Park’s staff and to their equipment”.
For his part, Lafuente explained that “we have already started work on a project to restore and improve the Cabrera quay and the port facilities annexed to it”.
