Art Jove 2023 Photography
This Saturday, September 2, will be inaugurated at the Casal Solleric of Palma the exhibition of the six finalists of the Photography Contest Art Jove 2023 and the two of the exchange program Art Pertot. The opening will be attended by the director of IBJOVE, Tomàs Amer.
Once the exhibition is inaugurated, the winning work will be announced, which will receive a prize of 1,500 € in cash and 3,000 € more to cover all expenses of the winning artist to participate in the contest Art Pertot 2023. This amount includes travel expenses, accommodation, meals and fees of the winning artist, as well as production, assembly disassembly and transportation of his work.
A cash prize of €1,000 is also established for a second prize, or two-second prizes ex aequo, or a second and a third prize, with the monetary distribution that the jury deems appropriate.
The Art Pertot exchange program is an initiative of the Pyrénées-Orientales Departmental Council and IBJOVE, through the Art Jove Cultural Program. According to this program, each collaborating entity selects a young artist from its territory to develop an artistic project, which is presented within the framework of the cultural programs promoted by the other collaborating entities and adapted to the needs and contexts of each receiving space. Therefore, two artists are participating: one, representing the Art Jove Cultural Program of the Balearic Islands, and the second, representing the Departmental Council of the Pyrénées-Orientales.
The winner of the first prize in this competition must exhibit his or her photographic project, together with the other selected artist, at the Art Pertot festival, at the Maison de la Catalanité in Perpignan, in December 2024.
The jury is chaired by Juan José Alonso, director of photography at the Centro de Estudios Fotográficos (CEF), and formed by Fernando Gómez de la Cuesta, director of Casal Solleric; Tomeu Coll, photographer; Mónica González, winner of the Certamen Art Jove de Fotografía 2021, and, as representatives of the Art Pertotc program Tiffanie Raguenet and Agnès Calas.
