The Archaeological Museum of Eivissa and Formentera is once again offering its traditional Christmas concert, which on this occasion will feature the saxophone and piano duo formed by Pere Prieto and Juan F. Ballesteros. The musicians will perform their recital Sax & Life, with which they aim to “reveal the meaning of life”.

It is a proposal that deals with different ideas or concepts that are the protagonists of the fact of living, such as friendship, fears, time, escape, death or memories. To do so, they have selected musical pieces of different styles, from pop to classical music, including jazz and dance pieces, most of them original works for saxophone and piano. The works are introduced by the musicians themselves, who reflect and ironise on the concepts they are trying to evoke and on the fact of trying to explain the meaning of life.

The concert will take place next Friday the 15th of December at 7 pm in the conference room of the Puig des Molins Monographic Museum (via Romana, 31, Ibiza).

Christmas Concert

The Prieto-Ballesteros duo was formed at the end of 2021 to create thematic musical proposals based on concepts and ideas that allow them to play with music, discourse and irony. So far, they have performed the recital ‘Sax & Love, the definitive concert on love’, and various thematic proposals related to specific events, such as the 30th anniversary of the Eivissa and Formentera Health Area as a training centre or the 150th anniversary of the Mercat Vell, among others. It intends to disseminate the repertoire for saxophone and piano, making known the different types of saxophones. For this reason, its concerts include pieces for soprano, alto and tenor saxophone.
