The most important cluster congress in Europe

In Spain, only Malaga and Barcelona have organized this type of event.

The circular economy will be the central theme of the conference.

The European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP), the organization that brings together 1,138 clusters across Europe, has selected, on behalf of the European Commission, the proposal of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Innovation of the Government of the Balearic Islands to organize in late 2024 or early 2025 – the final date is to be determined – the Clusters Meet Regions.

In Spain, only Malaga and Barcelona have hosted this type of international-scale event, which is the most important for bringing European clusters from all fields together. There is clear evidence that innovative clusters play a crucial role in regional economic development. This European congress aims to facilitate the implementation of good practices in which regional clusters are drivers of economic transition, as well as to create and promote collaborations between clusters and regional actors for industrial development, and to boost green and digital transition.

The event to be organized by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Innovation will be held in Mallorca under the slogan “Catalyzing the circular economy in the Balearic Islands”, and will include plenary sessions, thematic workshops, expert debates and company visits. The main theme is related to the RIS3 (the regional smart specialization strategy) of the Balearic Islands, and there will be talks and workshops on blue economy, circularity, innovative clusters and regional policy, which will allow working on strengthening the industrial ecosystem of the Balearic Islands. These topics are in line with the Government’s commitment to create the Regional Innovation Valley (RIV) of circularity in the Balearic Islands.
