The Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached 747,147 households in which 2,194,953 people live, according to statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).

The Minimum Vital Income
This benefit, which is paid by Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty since, of the total number of beneficiaries, 43.4% are minors (953,387). Furthermore, if we consider the number of households, 68.3% have at least one child (510,655).
According to these data, in two out of every three households, the benefit holder is a woman and, if we consider the total number of beneficiaries, 53.9% are women (1,184,206).
The number of benefits under the Childhood Assistance Complement (CAPI), they have now reached 460,061. The CAPI, which came into force in January 2022, is an allowance of 115 euros per household per month for children from 0 to 3 years old; 80.5 euros per month for each child between 3 and 6 years old and 57.5 euros per month for each child between 6 and 18 years old.
