Horses and typical products

The first tourists of the IMSERSO program have already arrived in Menorca and have been welcomed with a horse show and a tasting of Menorcan products. This Thursday, February 1, has seen the start of the tourism season for seniors and therefore the hotel Sagitario Playa has hosted a special event in which they have participated, in addition, the president of the Consell Insular, Adolfo Vilafranca, island director of Tourism Promotion, Bego Mercadal, the mayor of Ciutadella, Juana Mari Pons, and the president of ASHOME, Sebastian Triay Fayas.

In the early afternoon, the usual tranquillity of the area was broken by the appearance of a group of horsemen on horseback to perform a demonstration to the tourists who were already installed in the hotel. The new arrivals enjoyed the horse’s characteristic dance before tasting a sample of Menorcan products.

Both Vilafranca and Mercadal thanked them for their commitment to Menorca, wished them a happy stay and encouraged them to discover all the island has to offer. In addition, the event was also attended by Carlos Garrido, director of institutional relations of AVORIS, tour operator that has the concession of IMSERSO trips.

The inauguration yesterday of the Hotel Sagitario Playa will be joined, as of February 12, by those of Almirante Farragut, Sur Menorca, Hamilton, Ilunion and Cala’n Bosch, making six establishments open as hotel offerings for the IMSERSO program until June.
