The psychiatrist Carme Bosch will be the new coordinator of the General Directorate of Mental Health, after the resignation of the former coordinator, Oriol Lafau, who is leaving the position for personal reasons.

Bosch has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Rovira i Virgili University, specializing in Psychiatry. She was the coordinator of the Psychiatry Service of the Hospital de Inca during the years 2018-2019; subsequently, between 2019 and 2023, she was the medical director of this same hospital. She currently holds the care coordinator position of the General Directorate of Mental Health. For his part, Lafau will continue as coordinator of the Mental Health Care Group of the Pact for Health. Lafau will return to her position at the Hospital de Son Espases, specifically in the Assertive Community Follow-up Team.

The Regional Ministry of Health recognizes and appreciates his work and the professionalism with which he has always worked as regional coordinator of Mental Health. With Lafau at the helm, a great impulse was given in the implementation of the Mental Health Office of the Balearic Islands and in the approval of the Balearic Pact for Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health. These bases have contributed to the implementation of the General Directorate of Mental Health.
