A project of design and installation of urban gardens wins the first edition of the Young University Entrepreneurs Awards (JEU) for students of the UIB

A total of 11 business projects have been presented to the awards of the program to promote entrepreneurship of the IDI and the UIB.

A project of design and installation of urban gardens wins the first edition of the Young University Entrepreneurs Awards

The project “Byome”, by students of the Industrial Engineering degree of the Polytechnic Faculty of the University of the Balearic Islands, has won the first edition of the Iemprènjove Young University Entrepreneurs Awards (JEU) organized by the Institute for Business Innovation of the Balearic Islands (IDI), an entity under the Ministry of Enterprise, Employment and Energy. Byome is a company dedicated to the design, sale and installation of urban gardens and orchards, even in areas that in principle would not be destined to be green.

The second prize went to “AgroRG”, by students of the degree in Agricultural and Rural Engineering, which aims to recover degraded environments thanks to regenerative agriculture techniques. The project “Happen In.”, by students of Computer Engineering, won third prize with a social network for cell phones that connects users with events and activities that take place in their area, from concerts, exhibitions and workshops, to parties and sports activities. Finally, there was a special mention for the project “DroneInGolf”, a company specializing in delivering orders to golf courses using drones.

A total of 11 projects have been presented to this first edition of the Iemprèn JEU Awards, which have been delivered today in the auditorium of the Anselm Turmeda building, with the participation of the vice-rector of Innovation and Digital Transformation, Loren Carrasco, and the general director of Enterprise, Self-Employment and Trade, José Antonio Caldés. The director of the Iemprèn Chair, Abel Lucena; the director of the Business University Foundation of the Balearic Islands, Luis Vegas; the manager of the IDI, Silvia Delgado; and the head of the Information and Entrepreneurial Talent Service of the IDI, Pere Jiménez, also attended.
