Education will finance the costs of partial retirements of teachers

The Regional Minister for Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, accompanied by the Director General for Teaching Staff and Subsidised Centres, Ismael Alonso, signed a collaboration agreement this Thursday with representatives of subsidised schools to finance the costs of partial retirements of teachers at subsidised centres.

The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of the employers’ associations of state-subsidised private education and trade union organisations and, using the agreement, it is agreed that the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities will finance all the payroll and social security costs of the partial retirement of teachers born up to 31 December 1963 until they reach the legal age of retirement.

In addition, the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities will also cover the payroll and social security costs of those teachers who are relieved of their duties and those who are members of cooperatives financed by a full module.

In addition, the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities has also undertaken to begin negotiating partial retirement for those born on or after 1 January 1964, as of January 2025.
