The Consell de Mallorca and SOIB offer training and work courses
The Consell de Mallorca has once again launched new training courses for the unemployed through the SOIB. These are two dual training projects that combine theoretical and practical training with an employment contract. The aim of these projects is to improve the professional skills and competencies of the people taking part, while at the same time carrying out projects of general or social interest.
The SOIB Joven Formación y Ocupación S’Ermita V project is part of line 1 of the subsidy and is aimed at ten unemployed young people, over 18 and under 30, registered in the Youth Guarantee; and the SOIB 30 Formación y Ocupación S’Hortet V project is part of line 2 of the subsidy and is aimed at ten unemployed people aged 30 or over.
The S’Ermita V project will provide training in the training speciality IEXD01EXP Dry stone construction; the full level 1 certificate of professionalism: AGAR0309 Auxiliary activities in the conservation and improvement of forests, and the partial level 2 certificate of professionalism: AGAR0108 Forest exploitation. This project will last twelve months.
The SOIB 30 S’Hortet V project will provide training leading to the level 1 certificate of professionalism AGAR0309 Auxiliary activities in conservation and improvement of forests and AGAX0208 Auxiliary activities in agriculture and will last eleven months.
With this training and professional practice through actual work, students will be able to carry out tasks such as handling the brush cutter and chainsaw, reforestation, perimeter closures, silvicultural treatments, construction of margins, cutting and fertilising stone, etc., to work for companies in the agroforestry and dry-stone construction sector.
At the same time, they will carry out a work of general interest and contribute to the maintenance and conservation of the agricultural and forestry areas and ethnological elements of different areas of the public estate of Son Amer, Escorca. Likewise, the intention is also to be able to respond to the current labour demand for personnel specialised in dry stone construction.
