The Consell de Mallorca recognizes the winegrower
The Department of Economic Promotion and Local Development of the Consell de Mallorca participated this Friday in the celebration of the Viticultor’s Day, of the IGP Vi de la Terra Mallorca, where it wanted to make a deserved recognition to the figure of the winegrower as “essential” in the production of quality wine of our island.
Councilor Pilar Amate attended the event, which took place at the Can Tronca restaurant in Sant Joan and was also attended by the island’s director of Economic Promotion and Product of Mallorca, Álvaro Roca, among other representatives of the wine sector of Mallorca.
Pilar Amate has intervened with a speech in which she highlighted the “fundamental” work carried out by the winegrowers of Mallorca and “the role they play in the whole process of making our excellent wines”. “Our winegrowers combine tradition and wisdom in taking care of the vineyard throughout the year, and are a crucial link in the entire production chain,” said the councilor.
The event began with a summary of the activities carried out over the last year by the Regulatory Council of the IGP Vi de la Terra Mallorca, which brings together 75 wineries and 298 winegrowers registered in this IGP.
