New classrooms for Primary Education, a kitchen-dining room, a gymnasium, two multipurpose rooms and a library will be built.
The Conselleria de Educación y Universidades, through the Instituto Balear de Infraestructuras y Servicios Educativos (IBISEC), has put out to tender the extension and refurbishment works of the CEIP San Miquel de Son Carrió.
The works will begin to be executed once the school term ends (in the summer) and have a 12-month execution period. The budget foreseen for the work is 3,098,315.16 euros, to which must be added 15,727.43 euros for waste management.
The project foresees the construction of a building to be used as a one-room primary school (with six units), a kitchen-dining room, a gymnasium, two multi-purpose rooms and a library, which will be distributed between the existing building and the extension.
The new building will be constructed on plot A, have an elongated shape, and house the classroom extension. Plot B will have different volumes and will house the kitchen-dining room, a multipurpose room, the gymnasium, and a covered patio with direct access to the landscaped courtyard.
In addition, there will also be a courtyard between the existing building and the new classroom. The existing building, which will be rehabilitated, will house the administration, a multipurpose room and the library.
