The following people attended the 2024 presentation: the president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, the second vice-president and councilor of Environment, Rural Environment and Sports, Pedro Bestard, and the councilor of Presidency, Toni Fuster. The island directors of Sports and of the Serra de Tramuntana Consortium, Toni Prats and Toni Solivellas, presented this new edition, which will reach ten municipalities, three of them newly incorporated this season: Esporles, Estellencs and Pollença, with Cala San Vicenç as the destination.

The complete line-up will be as follows: Bunyola (Raixa), February 17; Calvià (Galatzó), March 9; Banyalbufar, April 20; Campanet (Fuentes Ufanas), May 5; Estellencs, May 25; Esporles, September 14; Pollença (Cala San Vicenç), October 5; Puerto de Sóller, November 2; Valldemossa, November 16; and Escorca (Lluc), December 1.

The president, Llorenç Galmés, highlighted sport “as an essential tool for learning about the values that have made the Serra de Tramuntana World Heritage Site, as well as those inherent to sport, such as companionship, respect and healthy habits. He also recalled that “with these family races, we bring together the practice of sport and appreciation for our heritage.

The councilor Pedro Bestard explained the sustainable nature of the program and valued the fact that “the races allow us to do sport in the privileged nature that we have in Mallorca, from a more familiar than competitive side”. And he added that “Mallorca is a land of runners, a sport with great outstanding figures in athletics, and it is demonstrated by the great enthusiasm that exists from childhood”.

The program, organized by Sports and the Serra de Tramuntana Consortium, has seen the participation of 28,000 runners in a decade. It is expected that 2,500 people will participate in the 2024 edition, making it one of the Consell’s most sought-after sports programs. During the presentation ceremony, the faithful participants in all the 2023 races have been awarded, a detail sponsored by the Tribe brand. And this year, as a novelty, Sports Stays have been offered to three winners of a photo contest that took place on Instagram for the tenth birthday.

In this edition, the races will be completed with guided group tours in the participating villages that the Serra de Tramuntana Consortium promotes, and architectural shots and key curiosities will be highlighted.
