A telephone of previous appointments has been enabled so that interested people can be attended in person by the insular institution to speed up the procedure.

The Consell de Mallorca presents the call for subsidies for the promotion of associations within the group of elderly people, for the year 2024. The insular institution has opened the inscription period and it will remain open for fifteen working days from its publication in the Official Bulletin of the Balearic Islands.

Period for the inscription of subsidies addressed to collectives of elderly people

The call for applications aims to establish the conditions governing the granting of subsidies to non-profit associations, federations of associations and organisations for the elderly, to ensure the continuity and development of their activities.

The total budget for this aid is 1,985,000.00 euros and has two distinct lines: one for associations and another for federations.

The island institution has set up a telephone number (697 100 346) to request help from the Socio-cultural Promotion and Associations service in processing registrations. As a novelty, in addition to the usual face-to-face service established from Monday to Friday mornings, there is the possibility of two afternoons a week (Monday and Wednesday from 4 pm to 6 pm), in the centres of Inca, Manacor and Palma, during the application period.

The team of technicians from the Insular Directorate of Sociocultural Promotion, who are familiar with the procedure, will make an appointment in advance to attend in person to the associations and federations that need it. In this way, the professionals will offer a personalised service and guidance to facilitate this procedure. The councillor for the Presidency, Antoni Fuster, explained that one of the main problems “was the complexity of the bureaucratic process for beneficiaries, which created an impediment to obtaining aid”.

The island’s director of socio-cultural promotion, Hermosinda Isabel Mariño, added that “easy access to this type of subsidy has been a long-standing demand from associations and federations, which is now possible with on-site technical assistance”.

The councillor and the island director, together with the team of the Island Directorate, will hold several meetings with the federations and associations in order to inform all of them of the application procedure for subsidies and the possibility of being able to schedule an appointment with technicians:
