Mallorca Live Festival and the Govern de les Illes Balears join forces
The most important musical event of the Balearic Islands, Mallorca Live Festival, has taken a step further in its internationalization by landing for the first time in Germany during the international tourism fair ITB in Berlin.
Mallorca Live Festival is one of the strategic events with which the Government of the Balearic Islands wants to position the island from the point of view of cultural tourism. This promotion has been carried out during the first day of the fair, at the Balearic stand, where the most important event of the Balearic Islands has announced new names for this year’s edition.
Cultural essence of Mallorca in Berlin
To showcase Balearic talent and the artists who will be performing at this year’s edition, Mallorca Live Festival and the Balearic Islands Government, through the AETIB and the IEB with the Fira B! market, have joined forces to organize an event in Berlin to promote the culture of Mallorca from a gastronomic and musical point of view. All this, in an event that has been held at the Festsaal Kreuzberg in the German capital.
In this way, the Mallorcan event, together with the professional music and performing arts market of the Balearic Islands, Fira B!, have joined forces to bring to Berlin a sample of Balearic musical talent and celebrate the Mediterranean lifestyle with the performance of the artist Maria Hein and the session by DJ Aina Losange.
This celebration was welcomed by the President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Margalida Prohens, and the intervention of Álvaro Martínez, CEO of Mallorca Live Festival, who said that “this is an event that highlights a commitment that we have been putting in value for many years: cultural and quality tourism”.
In the words of the President of the Government, Margalida Prohens, “culture and music are part of our way of being, of our character and of the Mediterranean soul. Our islands have a wide range of cultural tourism, with our heritage, museums and galleries, performance and concert halls, artists and creators, and events like the one we present today show how much we have to offer”.
This meeting was also attended by different authorities of the island, including the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Jaume Bauzá; representatives of the tourism sector of the Balearic Islands; professionals of the German music industry; German media, and a representation of German regional media of the Balearic Islands.
Celebrating Balearic talent
After making herself known in folk and pop key in 2021 with her first album, Continent i contingut, Maria Hein surprised in 2023 with a chameleonic attitude and a bet for electronic elements and a more minimalist production in the second one, Tot allò allò que no sap ningú. With this new sonority the young Mallorcan artist has shone at the Festsaal Kreuzberg, as well as with her version of the traditional Mallorcan classic “La dama de Mallorca”.
The celebration continued with Aina Losange, an independent and multifaceted Mallorcan artist who, in her more than fifteen years of experience as a DJ, has gone through various musical styles and has developed an eclectic, urban and fusion style where everything has a place (pop, reggaeton, indie, trap, house, techno, disco…).
