The Consell de Mallorca, through the Department of Economic Promotion and Local Development, will promote wines from 8 wineries on the island at the international fair ProWein 2024, to be held in the German city of Düsseldorf from 10 to 12 March, to continue to promote the island’s wine sector.
On this occasion, the island institution, in collaboration with the Mallorca Chamber of Commerce, has doubled the exhibition space at the fairgrounds compared to previous editions. It will occupy a total of 56 square metres of floor space, allowing for a greater presence of Mallorcan companies at this benchmark event for professionals in viticulture, production, trade and gastronomy.
A total of 8 Mallorcan wineries will be at the stand sponsored by the Consell de Mallorca. Specifically, 6 of the IGP Vi de la Terra Mallorca will show the best of their production: Mesquida Mora, Son Prim, Castell Miquel, Dalt Turó, 7103 Petit Celler and Ses Talaioles; as well as Bodegas José Luis Ferrer and Biniagual, from the Binissalem DO.
The counters in the institutional area will also have a space to provide information about the DO Binissalem, DO Pla i Llevant and the IGP Vi de la Terra Mallorca, so that companies and producers can publicise the range of quality wines on offer on the island.
Programme of visits
The Councillor for Economic Promotion and Local Development, Pilar Amate, and the island’s Director of Economic Promotion and Product of Mallorca, Álvaro Roca, will spend the first day of the fair, the 10th, holding meetings with representatives of the Mallorcan wineries present in the Consell’s exhibition area.
The following day, Monday the 11th, Pilar Amate will visit the stand of the Pla de Llevant DO, which is taking part in the event as part of the official Spanish pavilion, represented by Bodegas Miquel Oliver, Vins Miquel Gelabert and Es Fangar Vins, from the Pla i Llevant DO.
The island’s councillor for Economic Promotion highlighted “the great effort we have made to double the space of the Mallorca stand, given that, as this is one of the most important fairs in the sector, there are many companies from all over the world that wish to be present”.
Pilar Amate expressed her support “for Mallorcan wine producers so that they can have a greater commercial impact outside our island and showcase all the wine-making potential and the differential quality of our products”.
