Renewed sponsorship with RCD Mallorca to position the Balearic Islands
RCD Mallorca has a global audience of more than 128 million people from more than 20 countries
The Consell de Govern, at the proposal of the Balearic Islands Tourism Strategy Agency (AETIB), has agreed to renew the sponsorship of RCD Mallorca for the remainder of the 2023-2024 season and the 2024-2025 season, with a maximum budget of 1,678,940 euros.
With this agreement, the Balearic Islands as a whole and individually will have a presence on the clothing of RCD Mallorca, a team that competes in the first division of Spanish football and will play in the final of the Copa del Rey this season.
The sponsorship with RCD Mallorca will constitute an indirect tourism promotion strategy for the Balearic Islands as a whole because it will have an impact on a global audience of more than 128 million people in more than 20 countries. It is also worth noting that this club generates more than 1 million audience impacts annually in countries of strategic interest for our community, such as the USA, Japan, Mexico and other European markets.
Given these and other data, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport considers that this type of sponsorship by public administrations is of general interest for the Balearic Islands. The possibility of attracting sports tourism through this sponsorship fits in perfectly with the Government’s tourism strategy and intending to promote sports tourism and cultural tourism.
