Symphony Symphony Orchestra will give four chamber concerts
Chamber concerts are an important part of the Symphony Orchestra. It is a way of bringing music to all the Balearic Islands, thus establishing a closer relationship between the Symphony Orchestra and our society. On the 4th of April, at 7.30 p.m. in the Santanyí Theatre, a woodwind quintet will perform Danzi’s Quintet No. 1 op.56; Arnold’s Three Shanties; Debussy’s Arabesque No. 1 and Ligeti’s 6 Bagatelles. Tickets are free and can be booked on the website www.ticketib.com.
A string sextet will perform one of the best-known works in the history of classical music, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 “Pastoral” (arrangement by Michael Gottard Fischer) at the Teatro de Alaró, at 8:30 pm. In this case, the concert will be a benefit concert for the Asociación Española contra el Cáncer (Spanish Cancer Association), and tickets will be on sale at the casal Son Tugores, Estanc Coloma and at the theatre’s box office.
On the 6th of April a string and oboe quintet will perform Mozart’s Quartet with oboe, Britten’s Phantasy and Haydn’s string quartet at the Sa Manga Auditorium (Cala Millor) at 8.30 pm. Tickets are free and can be purchased on the website www.samaniga.es. On the same day, in the Cas Serres Auditorium at 7 pm, a woodwind trio will perform Divertimento for flute, clarinet and bassoon by Mozart; Variations on “Lá ci daremos la mano” by Beethoven and Trio for flute, clarinet and bassoon by Koechlin. Admission to this concert is free until full capacity is reached.
One of the main objectives of the Government of the Balearic Islands and the FOSIB is to decentralise the reach of the Symphony beyond Palma, to reach new audiences and stages in an exercise of inter-territorial balance, access to the Symphony for all kinds of groups and programmes adapted to the different sectors of the public.
