Amate, who was accompanied by the island’s director of Economic Promotion and Product of Mallorca, Álvaro Roca, toured the Mallorcan exhibitors taking part in the fair, with PGI and PDO quality certificates, and met with representatives of the island’s companies present at the event.
Among the companies visited was the DOP Oli de Mallorca; wine from the DOP Binissalem; products from the PGI Ametlla de Mallorca, from Camp Mallorquí and Fet a Sóller; the company Dos Perellons, which is bringing Herbes de Mallorca and Palo de Mallorca to the fair; and products from Flor de Sal (Mallorca), all of which are located at the stand funded by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and the Environment of the Balearic Government.
Pilar Amate and Álvaro Roca also visited other Mallorcan companies participating in the fair with their stands, such as IGP Sobrassada de Mallorca; Mega Raw Bar; Mas Crespo, Quely and Horno Santo Cristo.
The councillor for Economic Promotion has taken advantage of these meetings to inform Mallorcan producers about the benefits of having the Producto Mallorca brand, which her department is working on, as “it will help consumers to identify products produced on the island, highlighting the quality and authenticity of Mallorcan products”.
Amate also announced that he intends to be present at the next edition of Alimentaria with the new Producto Mallorca brand, “which will allow us to publicise our brands, promoting the excellence of traditional gastronomy”.
