Commission for Coordination in Matters of Cooperation for Global Transformation

The Consell de Govern has created the Commission for Coordination in Matters of Cooperation for the Global Transformation of the Balearic Islands, a body attached to the Ministry of Families and Social Affairs. The proposal stems from the need and responsibility to configure a new, more strategic, flexible and open system of cooperation with a greater capacity for response, which facilitates dialogue between the different agents and elements of this policy; a more democratic and participatory model, both with the agents of the Balearic Islands and those of the South.

The new body will be an operational and agile instrument for participatory debate on matters related to cooperation for global transformation, in which different administrative spheres and social sectors are involved.

As a working body, non-permanent working groups may be set up within it to deal with specific matters or to carry out specific studies or proposals.

The functions of this Commission include Serving as a space for dialogue and mutual assistance to optimise the management and results of the policy of cooperation and solidarity; to coordinate and align the actions of those areas of the Government that carry out actions in the area of cooperation for global transformation; To coordinate, promote and align technical assistance or the mobility of knowledge between the staff of the public administration of the Balearic Islands and the staff of institutions, organisations or social entities in the countries and territories that are the object of cooperation actions, and to guarantee the coherence and complementarity of the cooperation actions for global transformation carried out by the autonomous administration.
