6,563,494.93 euros authorised to implement the degree in Pharmacy at the UIB

Implement the degree in Pharmacy at the UIB

Next academic year, the University will offer a total of 35 places for these studies, which will be taught on campus.

The Consell de Govern of today, May 17, has authorised the extraordinary pluriannual contribution of 6,563,494.93 euros to implement the degree of Pharmacy at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) from the next academic year.

Specifically, the allocations will be as follows: the year 2025, 1,090,907.90 euros; the year 2026, 1,369,045.32 euros; the year 2027, 1,215,867.90 euros; the year 2028, 1,382,040.92 euros, and 1,505,632.89 euros for the year 2029.

The degree in Pharmacy will be an official UIB degree that will be taught on-site at the Palma campus. It is a 300-credit degree of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), divided into five courses of 60 ECTS credits each. The implementation of these studies will enable the UIB to train qualified professionals in highly employable areas who can work in pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, the pharmaceutical industry, analysis laboratories, health management and education and research activities.

From the next academic year, the UIB will offer 35 new places for these studies, a degree with high demand in the Islands, as in the period 2016-23, a total of 200 students applied to transfer their transcript to study the degree of Pharmacy in other universities.
