It has the support of the Playa de Palma Hoteliers’ Association and the Palma Beach Business Association.
The Consell de Mallorca and Palma Town Hall, in keeping with their firm commitment to consolidate Mallorca as a responsible tourism destination, have joined forces to promote a joint campaign in favour of responsible tourism under the slogan “Have fun with respect”. Starting this week and over the next few months, the campaign will be visible in highly visible public spaces in the Playa de Palma area.
The Conseller for Tourism of the Consell de Mallorca, José Marcial Rodríguez Díaz, attended the presentation of the campaign this morning in Playa de Palma and defended the promotion of this type of action “to encourage responsible tourism in our destinations, to raise awareness of the need for civic behaviour on the part of everyone so that everyone can enjoy the destination and the environment in a climate of coexistence and mutual respect”.

The Consell de Mallorca promotes a responsible tourism campaign for Playa de Palma
The campaign will be visible in different outdoor spaces, such as OPIS (Illuminated Advertising Object) and billboards in areas of maximum influx of people. There will also be dissemination through other channels, such as social networks.
For his part, the first deputy mayor of Palma, Javier Bonet, stressed that this action is the result of “coordination between institutions”, and thanked the Consell de Mallorca for its commitment to “working together with the idea of promoting responsible tourism and in favour of Platja de Palma as a destination of quality and excellence”.
This action is another of the initiatives linked to the Commitment to Sustainable Tourism in Mallorca, Pledge, presented last November, which already has a large number of entities and institutions signed up to it: from the UNWTO to the different administrations on the island, as well as private entities, companies and associations of different kinds.
One of the keys to the Pledge is that as well as promoting the Mallorca brand abroad, it also carries out actions from within the island to reach both visitors who are already in Mallorca and residents. The aim: the protection, regeneration and preservation of the island.
The campaign is now starting in Playa de Palma, and another one will soon be launched in the Calvià-Magaluf area. All of them present the clear message that everyone is welcome and civic behaviour is expected from everyone.
